Hargrove Gas Logs
We have carried a variety of gas log companies over the years and have decided that Hargrove has the best looking logs on the market. Gas logs have traditionally been made from concrete and silica made into a slurry and poured in a mold. The mold is the key to authentic looking logs and Hargrove uses real logs to fashion their molds. Hargrove is now also manufacturing soft fibers logs, the Cross Timber Series, that are like the logs you find in gas fireplaces and they have a great glow factor. With many styles and sizes to choose from, we are sure that Hargrove has the perfect gas log set for your fireplace.
Keep in mind that gas logs use a lot of gas! An 18 inch set can use up to 80,000 BTU's of gas an hour - thats over half the average gas use for a home furnance. So gas logs are strictly decorator and recommended for infrequent use for family get togethers and holidays. If you want to switch to gas burning from wood and plan to use your fireplace frequently then we recommend that you consider a gas insert.
